A burden to reach an unreached people group turned into God raising up a young woman to serve her own people.

Meet Michelle from Malaysia

Michelle comes from the Iban people of East Malaysia. You may remember past testimonies of longhouses where many came to Christ and were baptized. Those are Michelle’s people.

Michelle started strong in discipleship under Bill and Lili Eng, then she disappeared.

Michelle knew she was called to ministry, but the burden of supporting her parents and sisters had pulled her away.

When the Engs found her again, Michelle’s parents agreed to let the Engs informally adopt her, support her studies at a national Bible college and provide mentorship in ministry and life.

Activated Into Ministry

Today, Michelle is flourishing as she continues her studies at a Bible college in Kuala Lumpur.

And the best part?

She is already ministering to her own people. On weekends, Michelle gains experience in evangelism and discipleship as she serves a nearby Iban community.
