How would your life as a young person be different if you’d been born in a war-torn country — and with no school to attend or place to worship?
Yvette is one life your giving has transformed in just such a place.
Yvette credits two things for her current success:
Jesus and the Esther Project
Raised a Jehovah’s Witness, Yvette knew of Jesus, but had a false and distorted understanding.
After entering the Esther Project, a sewing training program in the war ravaged Democratic Republic of Congo, Yvette started learning practical trade skills…and more about Jesus.
Every church we visited was packed full. That was not the case ten years ago, but now churches show the expansion of the Gospel in Pakistan.
The worship was incredibly vibrant — even though we couldn’t understand a single word! The Holy Spirit was present and the looks on the faces of the people showed authentic worship felt deep from the heart.
“I began to experience joy I had never experienced in my life. I decided to give my life to Christ.”
That’s when everything began to fall apart. Her siblings started showing interest in church. Her father grew so angry that he kicked her out of the house.
Homeless and confused, Yvette found solace in her training at the Esther Project. She completed her training and was hired as a teacher for the program.
“I know what it’s like to suffer. So when students are struggling, I can offer them the same hope I received.”
Yvette is still making a difference in her family. They see the changes Christ has brought ot her life and her siblings have started attending church with her regularly.
The Esther Project supports young people affected by war — often suffering from war-related rape and unable to continue regular schooling. Over 350 have graduated from its program and most have started their own tailoring businesses. Plans are also in the works to begin a carpentry program for young men.
THANK YOU for providing young people like Yvette with hope and purpose. You’re giving them a hand up in this world and changing their eternal destiny through Christ.
A $200 gift empowers the next Yvette on our waiting list for a lifetime with needed and meaningful work — and to encounter the Risen Jesus.
Thanks to you and your prayers, our time in Pakistan was incredibly powerful. Your prayers were answered in a number of ways. 500+ repented of sin and dedicated their lives to Christ and at least 120 baptized in the Holy Spirit 19 people freed from debt slavery in a...
Thanks to YOU, Global Outreach Foundation (GOF) has been on the move carrying out its mission in Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Americas since 2004. We give praise and glory to our risen Lord Jesus! You are sending "A" level ambassadors for Christ into some of the...
I've seen a lot of heart-wrenching scenes where Global Outreach Foundation works, but this was one of the most devastating. This is where YOU enter the story. Last month my husband, Joseph, and I traveled to Thailand to connect with one of GOF's Missionary couples and...
All the locals knew Elvis in Lukaya, Uganda. He was the crazy guy running around town. When Elvis showed up at a GOF's partnering church you help support, Pastor Joseph knew it was time. Jesus had greater plans for this man. Apart from the Pastor, no one else knew...
Our mission is to advance the Gospel in Word and Deed. I am excited to report updates on just some of what your partnership is accomplishing "by Word." In some areas where we minister, people do not have the entire Bible in their own language. Further, their leaders...
"Good service, lots of new kids, not expensive, reasonable price. Beautiful girls and service!" This is an actual online review of a suspected sex trafficking location in the Philippines. So, Global Outreach Foundation missionary Jack (not his real name), and his team...
