In the Democratic Republic of Congo, Nouvelle Communauté de l’Espérance (NCE), our trustworthy partner, is making a huge difference in a difficult regions.

"I Can't Go To Church. I'm Muslim."

Imowa hid her Muslim background during an interview for a teaching position in the NCE Primary School.

Once she was hired, she declared, “I can’t go to church. I’m Muslim.”

The school administrator chose to encourage and pray for her.

Surprisingly, Imowa’s husband allowed her to start attending the NCE Church.

Then the Lord showed His healing power when Imowa invited church leaders to her home. They prayed and both Imowa and her husband were healed of illness and severe back pain.

The Transformation Continues

Imowa joined the Esther Project training center where she is learning how to sew and clothe her family.

Now, the entire family is attending NCE Church together.

Sometimes it takes multiple people and resources to reach a family.

You and NCE’s church, school, and training center all played a part in transforming this family for Christ.

NCE Masisi Church

Strategically placed near several villages where refugees have since returned — and in the very heart of continuing armed conflict — is a new church.

With their own hands, they are preparing the ground and making bricks for the walls.

The church is bringing villages together to reconcile in a war-torn region and also learn about peace with God.

NCE Schools

More than 500 kids are enrolled in NCE’s primary and secondary schools.

War interrupted a portion of their school year, but classes quickly resumed and students were able to finish their studies.

It is clear that NCE is doing an incredible job ministering to the needs of people! Despite the challenges they face, they rise above and take othes with them.
