The Lord is doing something special in majority Muslim Malaysia and your giving is supporting the new home churches. And make no mistake — Christians in Malaysia face an uphill battle.
Evangelicals make up a mere 3.5% in this majority Muslim nation. Though Christianity is a protected religion in Malaysia, pressures from unbelieving family members and larger cultural expectations create difficult challenges for Malaysian Christians.
Dotting the landscape of East Malaysia are longhouses, made up of 20-50 different homes in each larger unit. These longhouses are quickly becoming centers of evangelism and discipleship.
Last fall, Pastor Jay (name changed for security reasons) and a GOF ministry team went door-to-door sharing the Gospel. More than 100 came to Christ and the people cried out for churches within the longhouses.
Seeing Success
Gatherings in the longhouses are drawing new, unreached people at each gathering. Current believers are emboldened to demonstrate their faith and new believers are encouraged to find they are not alone in this new walk of life.
With your support, 3 new longhouse churches have been planted!
Residents gather in the common area of the longhouse to hear the Gospel and worship Jesus.
In several other longhouses, discipleship small groups have started. These groups focus on teaching the Bible and applying the Word in everyday life, strengthening believers to withstand the pressures of walking away from Christ.
The effect of GOF’s ministry there is continuing. Just this year, 30 new believers have been baptized!

A GOF team will be returning in December to follow-up and continue further outreach. I look forward to sharing with you more of what the Lord is doing in the hearts of Malaysia.
