200+ Kids Fed Hot Meals
Last week, you fed Jabari.
Her mother was doing all she could, but the cupboards were empty. Her father had deserted the family.
Then hope showed up in the form of a hot meal.
Jabari held out her bowl where a corn flour mash called “mielie meal” (pronounced mealy-meal), was topped with lentil vegetable gravy.
Jabari’s stomach was filled and her spirit raised.
“I had no food that day, but they fed me a hot meal. And then they prayed for me. They were so kind and gave me hope.”
— Jabari
Our ministry partner, the Tshepo Foundation — which means “hope” — feeds and prays for more than 200 people each week (mostly kids and youth).
In partnership with a local church, the Tshepo Foundation plants crops on church land to provide fresh vegetables for the meal.
They also provide an income for a family by employing a local man to protect the church building and crops from thieves.
Jabari and others receive a hot meal in Mautse, South Africa
The security guard station where the church next door and crops are protected.
Clearing the ground for new crops come spring (it’s winter there now).
Because of you, the township of Mautse is experiencing the love of Christ in action:
- Feeding the hungry
- Planting seeds of hope
- Showing Christ’s concern for them
Your continued support is appreciated in advancing the Gospel through good works and partnership such as these.
“Truly I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to Me.” — Matt. 25:40
Your gift today serves up hope for others like Jabari. Thank you in advance for loving people in such practical ways.
