Reaching the world with the compassion and boldness of the Gospel.

Our History

Co-Founders Shannon Coenen and Dean Niforatos pose with Bill Eng, GOF’s Southeast Asia Director, in Bangladesh.

While on a mission trip to South Sudan in 2003, Shannon Coenen was struck by the extreme spiritual and physical poverty. She sought the Lord on how to make a difference.

Meanwhile, Shannon’s mentors Dean and Carol Niforatos were awaiting fulfillment of a prophetic message given years prior about someone who would build a nonprofit ministry to carry forth and expand their decades of evangelistic work.

In 2004, Global Outreach Foundation (GOF) became a reality with Shannon as its founding president and Dean Niforatos as one of its first missionary evangelists.

The Lord has increased the organization’s reach through a team of missionaries serving around the world in a variety of capacities. Shannon continues to lead the organization while also preaching and developing church leaders worldwide.

Our Mission

Partnering with churches and national ministries to advance the Gospel and transform lives worldwide.

Pastor Joseph (Uganda) and a USA team member preach.

The core of our mission is advancing the Gospel to see individuals transformed into life-long disciples of Jesus Christ. We do this by partnering with others to fulfill the Great Commission around the world.

Our missionaries and partnering national ministries include a variety of denominational backgrounds, skill sets, and ministry passions. Through this diversity we are strengthened to reach the multitudes still needing to hear of Christ or grow in their Christian beliefs.

Because the Gospel is both word and deed, we are intentional about meeting spiritual and physical needs in the areas we work.

Our Vision

Increase to 250 church and national ministry partners advancing the Gospel and making Spirit-transformed disciples.

By the year 2030, we intend to expand our partnerships to 250 churches and national ministries so more nations are reached with the Gospel and more Christian workers empowered to fulfill their God-given calling.

Working together, the Gospel goes where others are unable to go, pastors and leaders are equipped, and lives are transformed in every culture.

Our Programs

The Gospel is realized both in speaking the Word of God, but also in living out one’s faith by caring for the needs of humankind. Our programs are centered around these two aspects of the Gospel: Word and Deed

Word

Advancing the Gospel can’t happen without sharing of the Word of God. This category includes programs such as:

  • Evangelism
  • Church planting
  • Discipleship
  • Church leader training

Deed

The Gospel without good works is no Good News at all. As physical needs are met, hearts open to the truth of God’s Word.

  • Education
  • Human Trafficking Rescue
  • Food Distribution
  • Disaster Relief

Where We Serve

Countries in yellow (direct ministry) host Global Outreach Foundation missionaries or have established national ministry partners helping advance the Gospel through mutually agreed upon programs. As the Lord opens doors for us, we bring the Good News of Jesus Christ and work to disciple believers for life-long transformation.

Our online Bible studies extend our reach to additional nations where national partnerships do not yet exist.
